Arbitration system (Peer Review)

The evaluation system used by this journal is external, confidential and double-blind. All articles and essays received are subjected to an external peer review process; The referees are those people that the Editorial Committee considers most appropriate according to their professional profile, academic merit and experience.

Stages of the editorial process

Estimated time between receipt and publication: 2 months.

Reception:

  • The submission has not been previously published or considered by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in comments to the editor).
  • Prior to submitting the article, the authors must read and comply with the stipulated rules of style and citation. The citing and bibliographic reference system must be based on the APA format (2021) - 4th edition in Spanish of the 7th edition in English.
  • Once the manuscript has been received on the OJS platform or by email from Revista Arquitectura +, the General Editor will proceed to the review stage to validate the relevance of the topic and compliance with editorial policies. Subsequently, the editor will return the works to the authors with the observations he deems appropriate and will establish a period between 8 to 15 days to be resubmitted.
  • When the manuscript complies with the observations requested by the General Editor, the arbitration process will proceed, who will make the opinion of the content.
  • The authors must fill out the Letter of originality and transfer of rights

Arbitration:

  • The Editorial Committee consults and selects the appropriate peer reviewers related to the accepted thematic lines, who have external affiliation to the Institution and carry out an anonymous opinion.
  • The peer reviewers carry out an exhaustive review of the content of the essay or article and present their opinion through the Evaluation Form of the Arquitectura + Journal, and if necessary, with observations in the document. The review time will be 15 days maximum.
  • The opinion contained in the Evaluation Format will determine and recommend according to the following verdicts:
  • The material has the suitable content to be published
  • The material requires improvements to the content and adjustments must be made
  • The material is rejected in its entirety.
  • In case of delay on the part of the peer reviewers, a reminder will be sent via email, if no response is received, their collaboration will be appreciated and their replacement will be proceeded.

Incorporation of Observations

  • The authors receive the opinion from the General Editor, in the event that an adjustment is required, it will be established between 8 to 15 days and must be sent to the Arquitectura + Journal email address.
  • It is essential that the observations are incorporated in a timely manner to comply with the editorial process.
  • In case of having a position in relation to the observations, it will be commented electronically to the General Editor, to take them into account at the time of the final evaluation.

Verification of guidelines

  • The General Editor will verify compliance with the rules of style and quotes.
  • The General Editor will make the necessary adjustments to comply with the criteria and requirements of the indexes, directories, catalogs and storage systems that the Arquitectura + Journal has.

Layout

  • The General Editor will send the galley proofs to the authors in PDF format, for them to make a final assessment, a maximum time of 5 days will be established.

Publication

  • In compliance with the previous stages, the general editor will be in charge of publishing the articles on the electronic portal of the Arquitectura + Journal.
  • Finally, the authors will be informed about the definitive publication of the works.
