Abstract

This work briefly addresses the issue of the extensive use of concrete in the world as the main building material and the importance of the design and construction of durable works. The continuous improvements in the investment and infrastructure climate in Nicaragua have allowed sustained economic growth of over 4% in recent years. In 2017, important infrastructure works for an approximate amount of C $ 3, 095 million córdobas, have materialized in Managua. Among these we have: the new Dennis Martínez stadium, the road improvement in the access of the pebbles, the new western hospital Fernando Vélez Paiz, etc. By 2018, Nicaragua's economic growth is expected to be 5%, and its impact on the construction sector to be positive. The projection of new infrastructure works in Nicaragua should be considered with a long service life. Therefore, is the construction durable, the vision of the future for Nicaragua?
